In BlackWolf Preserved, Miriam has been Queen over Lyrill for over a decade. During that time she shut the country down to preserve the life of someone she loves more than her country if you can believe that. She raises Zoe as her own child, instilling principles that provide interesting results. Unfortunately, destiny knocks on the door and Zoe must leave Lyrill to meet people she has no memory of and runs into her future. Queen Miriam pulls several rabbits out of her hat to keep Zoe tethered to Lyrill as much as possible, but the Goddess has other ideas. Readers of BlackWolf Preserved either hated Miriam, her twisted history preceded her, or applauded her growth over the years. It’s amazing what people do for love, plus it’s lonely at the top. I’m not sure if we’ll see much more of Queen Miriam but I can’t count her out, she’s just as strong-willed now as before.
